McCormick Taylor is pleased to announce Darren Even, AICP and Cameron Clayton, PE have joined our growing North Carolina market, expanding Project Management expertise for our NEPA and Transportation Engineering teams.
Meet Darren Even, AICP – Project Manager, NEPA Services
In his position as Project Manager, NEPA Services, Darren will be responsible for leading environmental compliance and permitting efforts on projects involving the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
With a Master of Urban and Regional Planning (M.U.R.P.) from the University of Colorado Denver and 23 years of experience in the environmental industry, Darren brings a wealth of NEPA planning expertise to McCormick Taylor. He is highly skilled in project management and the development of NEPA documents. He also has experience in leading public engagement initiatives, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and implementing NCDOT processes. Darren has spent much of his career in North Carolina and is eager to help McCormick Taylor expand throughout the state and beyond.
“Darren is a fantastic addition to the McCormick Taylor NEPA planning discipline with his enthusiasm, technical expertise, and depth of experience with all classes of NEPA documentation (EISs, EAs, and CEs),” said Virginia Bailey, Assistant Director, NEPA Services. “He will be leading our NEPA services in North Carolina as well as South Carolina, advancing project delivery efforts and exploring additional opportunities to support existing and new clients in the region.”
Meet Cameron Clayton, PE – Associate Project Manager, Transportation Engineering
In his position as an Associate Project Manager, Cameron will lead and support a variety of transportation engineering projects ranging in size and complexity.
Cameron holds a bachelor’s in civil engineering from North Carolina State University and is a registered professional engineer in three states – North Carolina, Florida, and Geogia. Over the last decade, Cameron worked as a consultant, designing and modeling roadway improvement plans while coordinating with other disciplines to achieve project goals. Notably, Cameron worked as a project designer during bridge replacements after Hurricane Helene.

With more than 10 years of transportation engineering experience, Cameron brings strong technical expertise in OpenRoads Designer and Civil 3D, along with a proven ability to deliver high-quality roadway design solutions,” said Andy Young, PE, Assistant Director, Transportation Engineering. “His technical leadership and project delivery experience will further strengthen our transportation team and enhance our ability to serve clients throughout North Carolina.”
