Afton is a firm believer that you get back what you put in, so when she joined the Philadelphia Chapter of SMPS in 2012, she was quick to get involved with the Membership Committee. From there, she joined the Board of Directors serving two terms as the Director-at-Large for Membership (2012-2014), two terms as the Treasurer (2014-2018), and then served as President of the Chapter during the 2019-2020 year. Since 2021, she has been the Treasurer and Philadelphia Chapter representative on the SMPS Northeastern Regional Conference Board of Directors.
