McCORMICK TAYLOR ANNOUNCES NEW TRANSPORTATION LEADERS
As we look forward to a new decade of growth and success, McCormick Taylor is excited to announce the expansion of our transportation leadership with the promotion of five employees to the position of Assistant Director.

These promotions underscore McCormick Taylor’s commitment to our staff’s career advancement and development and are part of our overall strategic plan. These individuals join two current Assistant Directors,* and they all exemplify a shared goal of achieving our long-term growth and fostering our culture, while reinforcing our dedication to the clients and communities we serve.
Michele L. Aitkenhead, AICP, GISP | Assistant Director, Systems and Operations
Michele is a certified planner and GIS professional with 18 years of experience implementing GIS and planning solutions for transportation and energy clients. She has a unique ability to organize information and data for ease of management and analysis, and she currently manages the financial portfolio of the TMDL capital program for the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration. McCormick Taylor recognizes the need to more fully integrate our technical staff and services into the company’s operational functions. In her new role in the Systems and Operations Group, Michele will be instrumental in weaving the connections between our technical work and our systems model. This will greatly contribute to our success as we advance our vision and growth plan. Michele’s role will work with both the technical and operational sides of the company to create synergies and gain efficiencies in work production and business processes across all facets of our overall performance.
Robert J. Marchetti, PE | Assistant Director, Transportation Engineering
Rob has over 21 years of transportation design and management experience and currently leads the transportation engineering group in Baltimore. Over the past few years, he has worked on several design-build projects for the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration. He was the acting General Engineering Consultant Project Manager for the award-winning MD 404 project, which was Governor Larry Hogan’s top transportation priority project. Rob is currently working on business development initiatives to grow our transportation engineering services and has a focus on growing our Construction Management & Construction Inspection and Design-Build markets companywide.
John F. Mullen, AICP, NJPP | Assistant Director, Planning and Communications Services
John has more than 21 years of experience guiding and managing a wide array of multimodal transportation planning and communication and outreach projects for a variety of clients across McCormick Taylor’s market reach. Through that experience, John has been able to expand and grow his client network, as well as his planning and communications expertise. He has also had the opportunity to work with McCormick Taylor’s planning and communications staff across the organization. As Assistant Director, John will be responsible for managing McCormick Taylor’s communication services and staff across the company, as well as strengthening McCormick Taylor’s position as a provider of communication and planning services to not only our existing client network, but to new clients in new markets as well.
John L. Petulla, PE | Assistant Director, Transportation Engineering
With more than 25 years of experience in the transportation industry, John’s project management expertise ranges from minor transportation improvements to major, complex design projects. John is currently leading office operations in Pittsburgh, as well as managing several large-scale projects. He will continue to evolve in that role and work closely with the leadership of the firm to grow and expand the western Pennsylvania markets across all technical areas.
Joseph A. Thompson, PE | Assistant Director, Structural Engineering
For over 30 years, Joseph has communicated complex structural needs and design issues to other disciplines within and outside of McCormick Taylor. He is currently leading several large-scale structure efforts across the company, and in his new role, he will be responsible for all structure activities companywide. Joe will work closely with the other regional transportation directors and structure staff companywide to grow and expand structure services across the firm.
*Anthony M. DiMaggio, PE, PTOE | Assistant Director, Transportation Engineering
Anthony is currently leading our operations in New Jersey as manager of McCormick Taylor’s transportation services in our Mount Laurel office. With more than 25 years of experience, his expertise includes planning, design, and management of transportation improvements projects in New Jersey. He will work closely with the leadership of the firm to continue the success of the New Jersey office.
*Susan M. Guisinger-Colón, PE, LEED AP | Assistant Director, Transportation Engineering
Susan has over 22 years of experience designing and managing a wide variety of highway and bridge projects in Pennsylvania. She currently oversees the operations in the Exton office, which include highway, bridge, municipal, bridge inspection, and construction inspection departments. She also manages Montgomery County’s roads and bridges under our County Road & Bridge Administration Contract. Susan will continue to evolve in this role and work with the leadership of the firm to share her expertise in the county and municipal markets to others across the company.
