VIRGINIA BAILEY PROMOTED TO ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES

McCormick Taylor is excited to announce the expansion of our leadership group with the promotion of Virginia Bailey to Assistant Director, Environmental Services. This promotion is a testament to Virginia's immense contributions to McCormick Taylor and our clients, as well as, the company’s continued dedication to the growth and expertise of our environmental services practice.  

 

In the role of Assistant Director for Environmental Services, Virginia will assist in leading efforts to foster client relationships while promoting and delivering our environmental expertise for a wide variety of projects across multiple offices. She will work closely with Leadership in developing strategic plans that support and grow McCormick Taylor’s Environmental, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and Planning Services with a particular focus on our Pennsylvania and Maryland markets.

 

“Virginia has played a key role in leading the firm's NEPA Practice for the last 20 years,” said Rick Shannon, Director, Environmental Services. "Her technical knowledge, combined with her focus on developing and enhancing client relationships will support the growth of these services across the organization.”

 

Virginia has played a key role in managing, reviewing, and mentoring staff on environmental tasks for complex projects and open-end type contracts, including planning and environmental open ends with PennDOT, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, and numerous other transportation clients. In addition to project delivery, she has extensive experience working with stakeholders to develop transportation planning and environmental policy, guidance, handbooks/manuals, and their associated training. Virginia is a Certified Instructor for both PennDOT and FHWA’s National Highway Institute (NHI), having instructed NEPA and Section 4(f) courses in Pennsylvania and nationwide. She is also an active member of multiple industry organizations, including the American Society of Highway Engineers Harrisburg Section (1st Vice President 2024-2025), WTS Central PA Chapter, and the Pennsylvania Association of Environmental Professionals (PAEP).

 

Virginia enjoys the challenge of navigating complex projects and scenarios, as well as mentoring staff and seeing them grow and succeed. “My first real job out of college was an entry level environmental planner position here at McCormick Taylor,” said Virginia. “I have grown as a person and a professional with the company, and I am excited to help lead and guide our direction and growth more actively.” 

 

In her spare time, Virginia is enthusiastically checking off her bucket list which includes visiting all 50 states. With only four states remaining, she will likely be visiting Kentucky, Indiana, Kansas, and Mississippi in the near future. She also enjoys photography and a good craft brewery.
