THE CHALLENGE

Provide various renderings of the same location with different stormwater retention features and landscaping options.

HOW WE HELPED

In the 1990s, a dry detention basin was replaced with a stormwater (SWM) pond, which over time, became inaccessible and fell into disrepair. To demonstrate the potential improvement in local quality-of-life through the restoration of inflow to the pond, our team proposed the development of renderings. These renderings, depicting two pond configurations ("dry marsh" and "wet marsh"), would feature an accessible shared-use path and boardwalk. The purpose was to showcase proposed improvements to local residents who were unaware of the existing SWM pond. We created both plan-view illustrations and 3D renderings by incorporating 2D and 3D CAD files, supplemental 3D topography, and the proposed alignment of the shared-use path.
