McCormick Taylor is pleased to announce Hassan Ismail, PhD, PE has joined our growing Columbia, South Carolina office.
Hassan is a Doctor of Philosophy in Civil Engineering and a registered Professional Engineer in South Carolina and Pennsylvania with over 10 years of experience. He earned his PhD, Master of Science, and Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of South Carolina (USC). He comes to McCormick Taylor after serving as a Water Resources Sector Leader/Expert, a Postdoctoral Scholar at Penn State University, a Research Affiliate and instructor at USC, as well as, a Reserve Officer in the SC State Guard, Engineer Detachment. In these roles, Hassan’s experience has included all areas of Water Resources Engineering with an emphasis on stormwater, flood modeling, large-scale assessments, drainage improvements, LID and nature-based solutions, H&H modeling (a myriad of software), sediment and erosion control, scour modeling, and in-house calculation methods and model development. Hassan’s work also involved business development, team development, workflow optimization and automation, and design reviews. He has shared his experiences and knowledge at a number of select conferences and invited talks including the IAHR World Congress, U.S. Army Engineer Research Development Center, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, ASCE World Environmental & Water Resources Congress to name a few.
In his position as Senior Project Manager, Water Resources, Hassan will bring an abundance of knowledge and experience, which will help facilitate new opportunities for McCormick Taylor and our clients.
