Congratulations to Alyssa Sooklal, PE of our Baltimore office, who was renamed Secretary of ASCE Maryland Younger Member Group's (YMG) 2022–2023 board.
Alyssa is a Water Resources Engineer II with 5 years of experience. As Secretary of the YMG, she plans events, writes communications, interacts with other engineers, develops her leadership skills, and represents ASCE (and McCormick Taylor) at events.
"I am very excited to continue my role with ASCE Maryland’s Younger Member Group (YMG) as Secretary. One of the aspects of ASCE that I love the most is the sense of community among the civil engineering field as a whole. Working for a transportation-focused civil engineering firm can feel isolating at times; collaborating with engineers through ASCE has allowed me to gain perspective and understanding in different facets of civil engineering. I have made wonderful connections and friendships with fellow younger engineers in the ASCE Maryland YMG and in the ASCE as a whole. Taking on a leadership role in the Younger Member Group has been a unique learning experience for me and I look forward to advancing my interest and commitment to ASCE in the years to come!"
