As Director, Energy Services, Ben leads the strategic growth, quality assurance, operations, and development of McCormick Taylor’s Energy sector throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and adjacent states. His role focuses on project delivery, market expansion, staff development, and the advancement of overall company initiatives and objectives. He works with the Energy team to expand the services we provide to our existing clients and works to expand our client base.

With more than 25 years of experience, Ben is a seasoned leader in the environmental and engineering field recognized for his permitting and compliance expertise and his thorough understanding of regulatory requirements across all phases of project development. In addition to his technical prowess, Ben has played a key leadership role in business development, strengthening relationships with existing clients, expanding the firm’s presence in emerging clean energy markets, and broadening the depth and reach of our services. His background includes managing complex, large-scale transmission projects, with a specialized focus on those requiring a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCN). He continues to leverage this expertise in his current role to provide strategic guidance and mentorship to energy staff companywide.
Ben’s educational background includes a Master of Science in Environmental Science from Towson University and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Analysis and Planning from Frostburg State University. He regularly volunteers with organizations connected to his professional work and those that hold personal significance. As a father of four, Ben is deeply engaged in family life and enjoys staying involved by supporting his children’s various sports teams whenever possible. He and his wife are active supporters of the Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA) by participating and organizing fundraising events.
